Protect the Environment When You Hit the Slopes

If you plan on doing some skiing or snowboarding this winter, there are some things that you can do to reduce your carbon footprint along the way. By simply taking the time to do make a few simple choices, you can be happy about the difference you have made along the way.

Buy Green

Many people are unaware of the fact that they can buy eco-friendly snowboards. These snowboards are made from renewable materials like bamboo and hemp, so you can be certain that your new board has been constructed in the most environmentally friendly manner possible.

Clean Up

You’ll probably want to bring snacks and drinks with you up the mountain, but that doesn’t mean that you have to leave your garbage behind. By simply packing out what you have brought in, you can make a huge difference not only to the environment, but to the people who have to clean up the hill every evening.

Car Pool

Before heading up to the hill, ask around to see if anyone else is going on the same day. Social media is good for this, as you can simply put a post out there and wait for a response. When fewer cars head to the mountain daily, it reduces the carbon emissions in the area.
